Liberia’s President – Elect, George Weah, Sworn into Office – 22 January 2018; Can He Handle Liberia and Avoid Past Strife?

George Weah is a former footballer turned politician. Can he handle Liberia, govern peacefully, successfully and improve things for the country? Liberia is a country with a population of 5million, GDP of $2bn and an area of 111,369 sq km.

Like many African countries, Liberia has everything on her soil to be self-sustainable. But this is only feasible if the people can avoid or minimise winner takes all governance,  corruption, indolence, waiting for others to do it for you, dependent on foreign aid, regional and tribal strife that inhibit many African countries. ——– full story coming——–
